RIP Shane Finn (1960-2011)

Very sad to hear yesterday about the dying of Shane Finn, Shirley Finn's youngest son, who I got to know at Casuarina Prison, and to whom Line of Sight is dedicated. Shane died too young, at 51. I got to spend some time with him just before his death, and we talked about many things, his life, his impending death, and the murder of his mother. It of course sticks in my throat that, bar one or two, the people responsible for Shirley's murder are all still alive, while Shane is not. Shane was a real character, a talented writer and artist, and he will be missed.

Shane Finn...

I read a three page story about Shane in the paper in march 2006 and two days later i drove out to byford to met him and look at his amazing art. we have been good friends from that day .the last couple years shane and i went to church every sunday and this helped Shane to forgive himself and other and put some pain to rest. and gave him peace. he is now in heaven painting even more beautiful pictures...  his life is worth making a movie about...he is the most inspirational person i have ever had the honour of meeting. He is My "FINNSPIRATION" and i am his No.1 fan ....love you Shano ...see you in heaven my friend xoxo   stePh.D

RIP my Dear Friend Shane Finn

I write this in memory of a beautiful friend, Shane Finn.

I will never forget the encouragement you gave me, to continue my writings. Being an artist yourself you knew how it was. I will always treasure the time we shared when we were younger and the time we shared after you became free.

You will always be in my thoughts as the person that you were and the man that you had become...... May God carry you to heaven and keep you in his loving embrace, You are now with your Mother you so longed for, held tight in your Mothers embrace.

God Bless You My Dear Friend, love Debbie

I can still remember the lion rampant on his arm suited him well he was a proud boy. I met him again a few years later in freo an said g/day finny he replied I dont use that name anymore its shane sherring now . I never saw him again but will remember him forever met a lot of bad people inside shane wasnt one of them. very glad  to see he went back to his real name. R.I.P.
